What is an X-Ray Review?
An obligation-free X-Ray review is used to review your existing pensions and investments to make sure you are getting the best results. This means ensuring you are paying a fair price, being as tax efficient as possible, improving or tweaking the investment strategy but most of all making sure you are on track to achieve your financial goals.
Sometimes our review will reveal that you already have the best solutions in place, in which case we recommend you to stay put. Often, we can recommend a more suitable arrangement to better help you achieve your goals.
What’s the catch?
There is no catch. Often there are outdated investments in portfolios with hidden charges attached to funds and existing clients have given positive responses to the new potential of their portfolios. The X-ray review will only recommend changes if the result will provide more investment growth, meaning more money for retirement! Truly, a free & no-obligation check to ensure that you are on track to reach your financial goals.

Are there any requirements to do an X-Ray review?
An X-Ray review is completely free. You have nothing to lose. The minimum value for SJB to perform a review is £100,000 or the equivalent in another currency. In some cases, SJB Global may be able to lower the cost of previous providers by up to 75%. You can choose to move your portfolio to SJB Global if you decide that the lower cost and better recommendation and service are worth it.
What does an X-Ray review look like?
People are often unaware of the costs in their portfolios or how well things are performing. There may be unnecessary costs which can easily be avoided or reduced. Therefore, we will break down the following during an X-Ray:
- Comparing Investment Funds – If you already have investments, we analyse the weighting and fees of the existing investment funds within your portfolio
- Risk Profile comparison – Check and analyse the risk profile of your portfolio and contrast it with the equivalent risk factor benchmark and other similar portfolios
- Comparison of Total Fees of Arrangement – Delve into the costs of your entire arrangement including product fees, adviser fees, investment fund fees and platform fees to compare the total cost of the entire arrangement. This section also includes comparisons with other fee structures and helps to determine whether you are paying too much in fees
- Geographical Asset Allocation – Analyse the geographical asset allocation and distinguish the variant weighting percentage difference in each geographical area
- Past Performance – Look how the above 4 points have affected the past performance over the previous 5 years
